A WEEKLY (actually when I feel like it) COMMENTARY BY THE FAT CHILD
This is going to be short...................................but I don't care.
What the hell is going on with people and not taking responsibilty for their action. Our society is constantly making it easier for the individual to not have any responsibiltiy.
You guys all make such good points!! I agree on many counts. In fact, Jackie, you mentioned something about how some of those people stand there protesting simply to prove that they are Christians. It's fine that they're standing up for what they believe, yes, but I find it extremely frustrating when people go out of their way to show they're Christians simply to catch the attention of others, if that makes any sense. Like in Matthew 6:5-8 it talks about how you should pray to the Father in private, and in 16-18 it tells you not to look "gloomy like the hypocrites" when you fast. You show your Christianity to others through your everyday actions and choices. I wish people wouldn't feel the need to prove to others their religious beliefs; often those beliefs show through without your even realizing it. Okay, I'm done now. Hehe.
Jackie is a liberal but........................................but if you didn't give me choices, I would pick moderate.
To the ten commandments.
The United States of America doens't have an established religion. Therefore, we allow other religions to exist in this country.
If we had a national religion, then by all means keep it. However, with us, I find it difficult to side with the lone justice of Alabama.
I'm in a "Christian" withdraw right now because I'm finding it so hard to follow with other people doing crap like the Christian Coalition, GOD HATES FAGS.COM, and even our church angers me.
In other words, this is a bad week to ask me.
However, to back supporters, the U.S. was based on Judea principles..................................so would it hurt us to keep them?
My feeling about the whole thing can be summarized to: "Oh, shut up already!" These people kind of remind me of those who make up the Christian Coalition. They're all sitting on the steps singing praise and worship, and falling to their knees with these looks of pain on their faces as the monument is taken away....Honestly, it's like they're doing it all just so everyone can affirm that yes, they are Christians. Big whoop. They act like we're saying the Ten Commandments are evil, horrible things, or like we're denying God. Separation of Church and state isn't that - it's saying, "Okay, your religion's great, go practice it, but we're not going to promote it through the government because since this country's all about freedom, you don't have to be Christian - you don't have to be any religion." People just don't get that. Like, the other night we were playing Halo, and I was looking at the school calender, and remarked that I found it amusing that Christmas and Good Friday were on the calender, but New Years' Eve wasn't. And Jake got this huge disgusted look, and was all, "OMG, you want to take Christmas off the calender??!! What's your problem?!" And I was kind of confused, and pointed at our friend, Adam (who happens to be Jewish), and said, "Adam, do you believe in Christmas?" And...well, Adam's response doesn't matter (it was, "If I get presents, I'll believe in it!"). But, seriously. It's like a lot of people who are Christian are astounded and pissed off that anyone would even think that you don't want public schools or the government saying, "YAY, CHRISTIANITY!" Just because it's not promoted by the government doesn't mean the government thinks it's bad. It just means the government is saying, "YAY, FREEDOM!", which in my opinion, is a good thing. Yeah. It just makes me mad when the Christians were all praying and worshiping on the steps of that building like they were martyrs or something. Jeez. Go home and make your own monument: you praying and waving your hands isn't going to help. I'm sure that if that ordeal is ever in a Government textbook (and it very well could be, to illustrate separation of church and state issues), they'll probably have some blurb like, "Christians were very against the idea of removing the Ten Commandments monument, and protested through prayer and worship." Yes. "Please, God, take away our freedom to even have the right to protest removing this monument! Please, God, take away everyone's religious freedom just so that mine can be promoted by the government and public schools!"
Okay, I'm done. Hey, I'll give you $10 if you can tell me if I'm liberal or conservative based on that rant, ^_~
hey guys jackie is making me write in here...but i'm ok with that because we can't let it die again. how does everybody feel about that news story where they moved the ten commandments monument out of that courthouse in the south? I saw on tv last night all of these people who were so upset and believed that the government has no morality because they wouldn't allow it to be in full view in a government building. i personally think that it was good that the monument was moved...not all people in the united states believe in the commandments and it is not the government's place to be promoting a certain religion. I thought that my dad had a good idea...the protesters should see if a private business in the area would be willing to display the monument. but yeah...some of them were sort of getting on my nerves. that's all for now.
Shame on all of us, we let the blog die again! Ryan, I was meaning to respond to your essay on homosexuality, but I never did. I think it's terrible how homosexuals are treated......there are websites like godhatesfags.com that just make me want to cry. Even if homosexuality was a horrible, terrible thing, I don't understand why there needs to be so much hate in the world. It's really a useless emotion - nothing is ever accomplished because of it. It only causes pain and destruction, and The Second Coming of Jesus says: THAT'S CRAP! Anyway. Manny and Father John need to join this blog! And I want to invite Jim Bott too, except that I'm mad at him right now because when I sent him my Compass article to edit (he said to send him stuff we want him to edit - like papers or whatever), he never wrote back! >O Anyway. It's the last week of summer and that makes me want to cry. I mean, yeah, I get to start the glorious class that is College Credit English, and I get to take Spanish all year long, but it still sucks, especially since I can't be in marching band! Oh well. Now I have to actually go to football games and be all......OMG, YAY JAGUARS! and stuff. I am so not a fangirl. Okay, this post has no point, and I'm almost done.
Tom: I have finished The Stand, ;D And just so you know, everybody who is a part of this Jeebus Blog has their email address on the sidebar. There's a little box that says [#] Jesus Freaks, and if you click on someone's name, you can see their email address. But, if it's easier, I can send you an email with everyone's address.
Marge's Weekly Commentary Discussing what is Irritating the Fat Boy
Topic: Homeosexuality and Society
I was hesitant on writing abou the topic last week but I'm like what the hell!
To star this whole process out on my stand on the issue..........................................I have mixed feelings about it.
THe last two weeks, the media has been bombarding us with crap. Let's start out with the metric tons of stuff on bravo and NBC. We have shows like Will an Grace, Queer eye for the Straight Guy, and Boy Meets Boy. Then we have elluciant shows that pop up that portray them as weird and separate as second class citizens.
We then have the media making huge deals on Gay Pride events and Disney's Famouse "Gay Day."
This week, the Anglican Church swore in its very first openly homeosexual bishop. This of course caused a huge upoar from not only that church, but every christian community on the block.
The Vatican also unleashed one of their statements condemning homeosexual marriages and raising kids. It was both imformative with authority.
Conclusion
This took a while for me to think and reflect about...................But
Let up on this crap. Homeosexuals are homeosexuals and stop making such a huge deal out of it. No wonder poeple hate can't stand each other because all of this crap gets shoved down our throats. I find it distasteful enough and I have friends who are Gay. Are they ok? Yes. They are Human beings too.
If they want to have sex, fine............as long as I don't know about it. I was with the church at first, but then I was like............Who are they hurting?
What is wrong with a couple wanting kids? It's better then an orphanage or foster care. GROWL
I don't understand why a Gay couple can't get married and have kids just like any straight couple. Why do they have to suffer and be condemned to celibacy. Makes no sense and I have a hard time believing God made anyone want to suffer.
Leviticus, I don't know about it. That's the only shred of evidence that has me supporting the conservatives and brings me to undecided though. If God says its wrong, then who the hell am I to challenge God. But if its the church being dumb..............then whatever.
Then we have TV. What a bunch of idiots. I blame them for bringing hatred and shoving it down our throats.
Look what i'm trying to get across that everyone is equal and lets leave it at that.
I can't wait to go on the hill!! I have been working my bum off. Work has been psycoh and tommorow will be my first day since friday. Oh well, I'm making huge amount of money.
I feel that the fat boy must speak about all of this homeosexual hoopla of the week. I'm going to feed the brain.
hey jenny i should be at chill on the hill! and ryan i'm glad you feel loved because you are! its another beautiful day so i'm heading outside...

ok this new blogging system stinks....it wont let me read what anyone has written so i am not able to contribute to any conversation that might be taking place....... .......All you have to do is visit the website: http://highonjesus.blogspot.com When you blog, your posts go onto a website. You can view this webpage at the website's URL. That's kind of...the whole point..... -_-
I've decided not to rant on the weeks subject because the whole issue on sexual orientation is getting to be out of control. So I'll leave it at that. ? What's gone out of control?

Oh, and I can come to planning if its on wednesday. I thought it was on thursday.
ok this new blogging system stinks....it wont let me read what anyone has written so i am not able to contribute to any conversation that might be taking place.......just thought id let you all know that i tried at least :)
I lied when I said I couldn't come on Wednesday...I only work 6-10. However, I have my senior pictures that morning, so.....:P
Do you guys feel that God allows bad things to happen to us in order to strengthen our faith, or that the devil makes this evil happen and God tries to prevent it? Neither. God doesn't "allow" or "disallow" things to happen to us - we all do things to ourselves. People writhe in emotional pain because others are too callous to notice. Our whole society is commercialized to the point where discussing how you really feel is kind of laughed at. I digress. That kind of goes to the whole free will thing....if God sat up there and allowed or disallowed things to happen, then what would be the point? I dunno. I'm too spacey to type coherently, so I'm done.
I will keep both Ryan's co-worker and Jackie's niece (as well as her family) in my prayers.
After reading those last posts, I've been pondering for a little while now.... Do you guys feel that God allows bad things to happen to us in order to strengthen our faith, or that the devil makes this evil happen and God tries to prevent it? I don't know.
I also have to work the day we're supposed to meet this week. ;_; Oh, and if you guys could pray for my niece Amelia, that would be cool. She's getting an MRI scan on her brain on Tuesday and I guess they're checking for cerebral palsy. She was born with the umbilical cord wrapped twice around her neck, and I guess now she's a couple weeks behind in growth development. Obviously, praying won't cancel out the disease if she has it, but just pray for faith and strength for my family, if that's the case. Thanks, ^^
I would love to go there. I have to work something out with my parents. I got called into work the time we're suppose to have the meeting. One of my co-workers is suffering from a rare form MS type only that it can be managed indefintily. However, treatment has not of yet taken its course. Right now she can't eat or drink anything and she has to drive down to Milwaukee every week for treatement.
............A girl going to be NeuroSurgeon now crippled..............It's unfair........................
Please keep her in your prayers.
On a more happy note, the priest at mass today was really good. I saw Jesus in that guy and his ability motivate the crowd during mass. His different ways were so cool. I hope he comes back to visit. I enjoyed the way he made us laugh and not afraid to on the line.
