Hey, we'll have fun at our sleepover! I'm looking forward to that, ;D

Anyway, hopefully this change won't be too bad.....I put the banner I made on the top of this page even though it doesn't match the colors and it doesn't fit in the layout anywhere. I made it dang it, so now it's there. When I learn how to make better banners, I'll make a better one, but for now that's what we've got. I hope you guys like it! The lyrics are from "I Will Get There" by Boyz II Men, from the Prince of Egypt soundtrack. The whole soundtrack has such beautiful music, and I really like that song, too. It's inspiring sometimes when I feel like crap. I know the lyrics are hard to read over the images, so this is what they say:
i've been wandering 'round in the dark
been lost so no light could shine in my heart
i've known a pain so deep
but i know my faith will free me
....so don't tell me that it's over
'cause each step just gets me closer

Someday we should all walk to church prior to youth liturgy or something. We need to get all the Jesus kids and go on a retreat because there is so much to discuss. i miss last years trip with the slovakian kid at abbey. I miss Carrie and Jennifer too.

I found this link at the America Catholic website....it discusses Haloween-related things like exorcisms, ghosts, etc. Ryan, you'd probably appreciate it, ;)

Thank you Jacklyn.

I'm going to post a question to our friends at life teen and see what they have to say about secret societies in the catholic church.

Normally I would just leave a comment, but it appears as though YACCS is down. Ryan, I consolidated your four small posts into one larger one. Remember, you can always use the 'edit' button if you find something else you want to say, ;)

I think its funny and maybe God is trying to tell the producers of the movie to stop being dumb. But whatever.

I have a good book idea. Mel Gibson is probably part of the Opus Dei. Intollerant. Conservative. yep

Yes instead of planning mass, we should talk about this because Its cool.

If you really want more information about the Opus Dei, Check this out.

This site gets more into it. It also has Death Records of all its members in 2002, Scary. http://en.romana.org

Who are the knights of Malta? CARRIE?

I didn't realize there a lot of secret societies within the church.

~
Notre Dame is noted to not following catholic orders and is even sometimes questioned as a catholic institution.

Read this officially from the NDU website.

"Other lay organizations, such as Opus Dei, Regnum Christi, and the Knights of Columbus, have influenced the spiritual formation of students through their presence on or near campus. The men's Opus Dei center located blocks from school provides basic spiritual formation for students through weekly meditations, days of recollection, and classes on living a spiritual life. A new woman's center of Opus Dei was recently established near campus as well."

There are tons of roman catholic secret societies. It's both confussing and scary.

Pat Buchannon is part of the Knights of Malta. one of the groups trying to make the church the all powerful.

All of this is speculation though. But there are tons of conspiracy theories out there. Just go on line and type in............Roman Catholic secret Socities

I'm done

I'm going to worry about my own affairs now............school and sleep

See you at jesus.

So, since Ryan just kind of jumped into that one, here we go. Ryan is talking about Opus Dei, an ultra-conservative group. This is their website, which is pretty much a flakey site. No information. This is a really good FAQ that actually explains stuff. Visit the FAQ. In particular, I liked the questions about their leader. Sounds like a dick, seriously. Don't just read this post and be like, oh okay. Actually go to the links - teach yourself things. Opus Dei sounds like a bunch of whores! We must ask Father John what the heck is going on.

Morning Kids.

I have been fascinated by a certain secret society mentioned by the book Carrie gave me.

I have looked into the secret society of the catholic church quite in-depth. My conclusions are simple.

I find the group to have a unique ideology and some really good ideas to live by. The checks and balances as well as support members could bring to each other is impressive.

However, they are rather frightening. I believe they are like the SS for the Pope or a coup trying to cease power in Rome and through out the world. They are starting out slow by getting Opus Dei members in governments, FBI and CIA to gain influence. They are very secretive and are dishonest. I believe we as a people should do our best to oust this threat.

If I had lots of money, I would start a group called "Jesus is Number One."

Their founder was a Fascist tyrant who should have been locked up for the rest of his life.

They are extremely creepy. In fact I have been questioning whether I really want to go to church or not.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKK

Hooray, We have a terrorist group within the Catholic Church.

Ryan, you have very valid points. I agree that people need to wake up and realize what the hell is going on in the world - there's so much suffering, and all people every do in the United States - where we have enough money to help others - is talk about it. We all sit around and say, "Oh, well that's too bad.....I'm sorry that they suffer...." But do we ever do anything? No. We complain about our homework or our jobs or other stupid things that don't even matter. I don't ever foresee there being one country, though - humans don't have the capacity to let go of their power. Which I think is sad. If we're all the same, then what's the point of having power in the first place? What do people gain from it? Nothing. Everyone else just loses. Bunch of crap.

Ok, I have issues with people who claim to be one with the Lord. When people ask me how I can be so Jesusie and that I must be perfect. Well, kiddies, as you already know, that is far from the case. I'm the wicked spawn from hell who is trying to change the definition of myself by hopefully going up "there."

It gets so tiring all the time that i have to defend my self for being associated with Jesus. Let me rephrase that!!! Trying to live the lifestyle of Jesus. At work I feel I alwasy have to defend my Catholic faith with my co worker who is a Jehova's witness. I finally told her that I'm content with my faith and that you need to respect it just like I respect your beliefs. When you say things about how we're a corrupt people and the leadership is flawed because "All" priests rape little boys that I'm a bad person and will get sent straight to hell.

END

On the ohter hand, there is the ohter side of that ball game where there are times when I hate catholism.......especially "Rich" Catholicism. Notre Dame Academy is a prime example of what I mean. Notre Dame and its members claim to be one with the church yet the politics there are outragious. I was talking to a former associate Principle (sheedy's sister) who told me all fo teh crap that had to dealt with. I was appalled!!!

We then have Green Bay Catholics.....(Rich again). This is the kind of a catholic that I'm trying to stir away from (even though I could do more) that goes to church every sunday, forces their kids to got to religion class even though they would much rather be decapitated by a hatchet. Yet, do they practice what they preach......NO!

Our church and world has huge amounts of problems. Over 1 billion children are neglected of one or more of the basic needs. Yet, I Ryan Pierce, Sit on my ass and do nothing about it.

If there is one goal that I want to accomplish by the time I graduate from High School, is to get us united as a church and perform service based activities.

Catholic Social teahing is the basis of how catholics should live. Perhaps its time the church makes that known.

I'm sorry I'm so grumpy tonight, but I"m so tired of people (myself included) on how complacent we all have grown in the last few years.

One more thing that irritates me.

Why are people procreating still?

The population of the Earth is skyrocketing at an exponential rate and yet people continue to procreate.

The United States is the most destructive Country in the world yet with only 4% of the Earth's Population. The world is expected to self-destruct within 50 years. Why aren't we trying to save ourselves? (I'm going to try to take the bus again, wish me luck).

Why did Humanity have to die? When will humanity ressurect itself?

When will the people of the world Unite has One for the goal one thing!

Human Progress.

In my life time I dream (key word dream) that the world be something like this:

1. Earth will have one Country: The United Nations of Earth. Peace at last.
2. We will destroy uses of Fossil Fuel and use renewable energy.
3. Starvation will cease. Disease will be the thing of the past.
4. Hamanity will care for the other creatures that God gave them to be their leader.
5. Our enviornment will be clean, crisp.
6. The acquisition of wealth will no longer be a goal for humanty. The new formation will be progress.
7. Every human will have equal oppotunities to suceed and grow. (All schooling will be based on merit.....no options of paying your way in school. All will be public schooling or schooling that can be attained by any person).
8. Population Control: Keep the popluation at 2-3 billion people.

I'm sorry about this long post, but it has been a long time and the statements that may seem "anti Catholic"

I also apoligise for somethings that had inadequate grammar. (The entire post :) )

So most of us heard this at Youth Liturgy, but I really, really love this song. And I know some of us are going through crap right now. Well, everyone always has trials, I guess. Anyway. I love the words, which is why I put them in here. The first stanza is the refrain, the rest are verses. I'm a fan of the first and fourth verses. Anyway, the end.

Holy darkness, blessed night,
heaven's answer hidden from our sight.
As we await you, O God of silence,
we embrace your holy night.

I have tried you in fires of affliction;
I have taught your soul to grive.
In the barren soul of your loneliness,
there I will plant my seed.

I have taught you the price of compassion;
you have stood before the grave.
Though my love can seem like a raging storm,
this is the love that saves.

Were you there when I raised up the mountains?
Can you guide the morning star?
Does the hawk take flight when you give command?
Why do you doubt my pow'r?

In your deepest hour of darkness
I will give you wealth untold.
When the silence stills your spirit,
will my riches fill your soul.

As the watchman waits for morning,
and the bride awaits her groom,
so we wait to hear your footsteps
as we rest beneath your moon.

I chose my confirmation name to be Rex. So today, I go to school I have never felt this alone in my life. I tried to take all of your advice about socializing. Well, now i feel utterly and irreversibly alone. I have never felt this way before but since a certain friend doesnt do anything with me anymore because she joined this other, i have felt Jealous. It's a little weird. oh well

So now for the good. i have a new dog and I want to hate it but it won't let me because it just loves me to much.

Jesus experiance: well no, God though was around when i walked from the library to my house. that was fun.

So, yeah nothing new with me accept.

i'm too tired
good night

So, you might notice that I added a section on the sidebar called "Weekly Jesus". I'm just starting to try and put stuff on this blog so it can turn into what I was describing in my last post. My time is pretty constricted, but maybe I can work a little each day or something. Tomorrow I'll probably add things that have specific dates, like Youth Masses and Taize Prayer. Let me know if you have anything to add! The goal is that eventually, we can come to this blog at any point in time that we feel like we need some Jesus, and find a website to go to, or a church event each day of the week we can go to. I can't come up with all of it by myself, ;_;

Anyway. I just wanted to ask what everybody's Confirmation name was/is/will be. Because I think they're cool things. You get to pick a word to describe yourself! My Confirmation name will be Aila. It is pronounced IGH-luh. I spent a lot of time looking up names online, and have various lists. Aila is finnish for "light-bearer". I like the light/darkness metaphor a lot. I use it in my writing, and I guess part of it is that even when I'm really depressed, I just try to remember that the light of hope is always there. And the other reason I like the term "light-bearer" is because that's the kind of person I want to be. I want to be Jesus to everyone - to bring light to everyone's life by treating everyone I meet with respect, and to bring light by helping people. Yeah, so that's my Confirmation name. Now it's everyone else's turn! :P

hey everyone! Today i was on the website for my online spanish class and i was reading from one of the discussions boards. (They have some for the class but there is also one where students can just talk if they feel like putting off their work!) so anyway, i was reading the different entries and there was one guy who just asked "Hey, is anyone out there a born-again Christian?" Now i thought this was just a little unusual...would he have cared if they weren't "born-again"? So there were some more posts that I went along and read, and then i came to this one where a guy asked why people pray to Mary or saints. He went on and on about how those people are misguided, so i left him a little explanation, how we don't pray to them, we just ask them to pray for us. Hmmm...i'll see if he writes anything back.
